About Us
Since 2015, StudioHue DIY pARTies and Workshops has been the premier mobile arts venue bringing the pARTy to crafters in downtown Buffalo and across Western New York. It’s the go-to place for birthdays, bachelorettes, girls night out - we know there’s always a reason to pARTy!
We offer an ever changing line up of do-it-yourself project for crafters of all skill levels. Our patient and attentive (and FUN) instructors lead pARTiers through step-by-step instructions in a relaxed and creative environment. It’s NOT your typical “paint and sip” party!! Every guest gets to put their own tastes and personality into their project - each leaving a unique creation!
Visit us in our downtown studio (where BYOB snacks and drinks - including beer and wine - are always welcome) or one of our pARTner venues - Rusty Nickel Brewing Co, Platter’s Chocolates, Coyote Cafe... (all of our favorite places to hang out and eat and drink)! What started as a hobby for us almost four years ago has grown even more than we could’ve imagined!
In four years, we have crafted with:
- Over 5,000 guests
- Painted 2,200+ Buffalo-themed pallets
- Etched 1,200+ glasses
- Stuffed 500+ Buffalo pillows
- Created 3,000+ custom coasters
When we started StudioHue, we wanted to give people an alternative to just going out to dinner. We wanted to offer a way for friends together and socialize while doing something creative. There's been so much excitement about our events - people look forward to them and can’t wait to find out what new craft projects we're adding next.
What we love most about our craft pARTies is that while everyone is creating the same project, all of them come out different depending on what colors and designs they choose- that’s actually why we picked our name Hue! DIYers have the opportunity to add their own details and personality to their project so each design comes out unique.
Liz Mantel from Country 106.5 WYRK’s morning show praised StudioHue saying “We showed up and everything was taken care of, everything you need is right in front of you. From start to finish you’re guided through your DIY project!.... If you’re looking for something to do with friends or your daughters…even treat mom! I recommend one of these nights. It really was a good time!”
We love Buffalo’s rich history and are thrilled about its resurgence; we feel like we found the perfect studio location to be a part of the revitalization. We’re so excited for you to see everything we have planned next!

Alicia Hark
Co-Owner
Computer geek by day and DIY crafter by night - StudioHue began all because Alicia needed a creative outlet. Spending 12+ years in IT management, Alicia was looking for a way to express her creativity and share her love of art. She came up with the idea to help others express their inner craftiness in a fun and relaxing setting. Even though she has spent her day troubleshooting computer problems and installing printers, she also has variety of experience in the creative projects. She spent two summers as an art camp counselor, was an afterschool program supervisor leading kids in many craft projects, is a website developer, and has dabbled in graphic design.
Alicia is a University at Buffalo alumni with a BA in communications. She resides in Cheektowaga with her husband Rob, daughter Morgan, and three cats, Logan, Caillou, and Remus. When she's not crafting, she's cheering on the Bills, playing volleyball, or watching the same episode of Puppy Dog Pals for the 8,623rd time.
