We apologize for any inconvenience, but at this time, we are currently not offering any scout badge workshops but would love to plan a social event for your troops! 

We offer Petal and Badge options for each level of Girl Scouts. StudioHue is committed to providing a creative, exciting
event for your Troop that will earn you every level requirement for each Petal or Badge that is offered. Your girls will
have a great time while experiencingthe creative side of Girl Scouting.

Sunny’s Petal – Friendly & Helpful

1-hour, $10 per girl
First, the workshop leader will read “Sunny’s Story,” and ask questions about the story. Second, the girls will paint a mural about “Sunny’s Story” on a piece of canvas. Third, the workshop leader will ask how the daisies can be helpful in the art studio after they have painted the mural.  At the end, you will have an incredible group mural to take with you as a troop. 

Zinni’s Petal – Considerate & Caring

1-hour, $10 per girl
First, the workshop leader will read “Zinni’s Story,” and ask questions about the story. Second, the girls will sit in groups of three and come up with different ways to be considerate and caring. The ideas will be shared with the larger group. Third, the Daisies will practice being considerate and caring. On the table will be lots of different art supplies. Every five minutes, the Daisies have to trade art materials with another Daisy. At the end each Daisy will have a beautiful picture on fine art watercolor paper to take home!

Tula’s Petal – Courageous & Strong

1-hour, $10 per girl
First, the workshop leader will read “Tula’s Story” and ask questions about the story. Second, the workshop leader will talk about courageous and strong women (Mary Cassatt, Juliette Gordon Low, etc.). Each Daisy will create a picture of a courageous and strong woman, possibly one that was discussed or someone else that inspires them.  Each Daisy will take a turn telling about their picture.  At the end, each Daisy take home two creative pieces of art on watercolor paper.

 

Clover’s Petal – Use Resources Wisely

1-hour, $10 per girl
First, the workshop leader will read “Clover’s Story,” and ask questions about the story. Second, the girls will make a collage by using provided magazines, and scraps of paper. Third, the Daisies will think about three ways to use resources wisely in the art studio, and in their regular meeting place. Each Daisy will have a resourcefully creative collage to take with them!

Vi’s Petal – Be a Sister To Every Girl Scout

1-hour, $10 per girl
First, the workshop leader will read “Vi’s Story,” and ask questions about the story. Second, the workshop leader will talk about Juliette Gordon Low’s vision for girls to be sisters around the world. The Daisies will create a group mural on a canvas about sisterhood around the world.  At the end, the Daisies will have a fantastic group mural to keep!

 

Cadette Comic Artist Badge

2-hours, $20 per girl
Each Girl will take home a comic artist kit 

Step 1 - Delve into the world of comics:  The workshop leader will discuss the work of three different comic artists. The leader will talk about the different styles and show examples of the artist’s work. 
Step 2 - Choose a story to tell - choose a subject:  The girls will think of a story to make their comic about.  The story can be from life, a book, a movie, or something made up. The girls will be encouraged to write a short bullet point list of the important events in her story. 
Step 3 - Draw it out:  The workshop leader will show different “How-to” books and explain how to draw specific characters. The characters will be determined by what kind of story and characters that each girl wants for her comic. 
Step 4 - Frame it in four panels - Use both facial expressions and body posture:  The girls will draw on actual comic board and construct a comic with at least four panels.  The workshop leader will show examples of how to use facial expressions and body postures to help communicate an idea. 
Step 5 - Add the words - choice of style:  The girls will use words to add dialogue with speech bubbles, show a single character by using thought bubbles, or tell a narrative story in separate boxes above or below the panel artwork.

Junior Drawing Badge

2  hours, $20 per girl 
Each Girl will take home a Sketchbook, and drawing tools

Step 1 - Use your imagination - Draw a cartoon:  The workshop leader will talk about manga and cartooning. The girls will then get to make up their own character after learning some cartooning techniques. 
Step 2 - Experiment with different materials - Mix & match and Learn how to add shading :  The workshop leader will have a still life set up for the girls. First the still life drawing will be done in pencil. Then the girls will separate their drawing into three different sections, using a different medium and technique in each section. The girls will learn how to shade one section with pencil, how to use cross hatching to shade with pen, and how to use value of color to shade in colored pencils. 
Step 3 - Get some perspective - choice of subject:  The workshop leader will talk about perspective and show examples of art that shows perspective. The girls will draw a street scene using one point perspective. 
Step 4 - Make your masterpiece - and show it off! - Create a special art scrapbook called a portfolio:  The girls will make their own portfolio to take home their finished drawings in and to show off!
